Mini-Biography
Tao received his B.S. in Chemistry at Nanjing University, China in 2016. In the Undergrad, Tao also spent half a year in Sweden as an Erasmus exchange student. Then, Tao moved to U.S. and completed his Ph.D. study in the Joe Subotnik group at University of Pennsylvania in 2021. During his Ph.D., Tao's research interests focused on developing novel analytic and numerical approaches to study both weak and strong light-matter interactions. After Ph.D., Tao became a postdoc researcher working with Prof. Sharon Hammes-Schiffer at Yale University. During the postdoc, Tao studied nuclear quantum effects via multicomponent electronic structure theory.
In Jan 2024, Tao joined in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at University of Delaware as an Assistant Professor.
Apart from research, Tao is also a big fan of hiking and Zelda games.
